Who doesn’t love pizza? Actually I know a gal…but anyway MOST people I know love pizza. ESPECIALLY Seth. He also loves BBQ chicken…so why not combine his two favorites into something unique? I know you can go pretty much anywhere and order a BBQ chicken pizza. But this is not just any BBQ chicken pizza. This is Sara Nicole’s very own take on BBQ chicken pizza. Say BBQ chicken pizza one more time…BBQ chicken pizza.
1st things first: the chicken…you don’t need more than one medium chicken breast for the pizza. See my take on BBQ chicken
BBQ pizza sauce (not regular BBQ sauce, not tomato sauce) Place pot on a stove, throw in a tablespoon of butter or oil. Chop half of a white onion, throw into hot butter or oil. 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic (or more if you like…you can never have enough garlic) 2 Tablespoons of honey. 2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar. 2 Tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar. 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar. 1 can of tomato paste. Fill can with water to get the rest out, pour into pot. Pinch of red pepper flakes. Salt and Pepper to taste. Feel free to add more or less of whatever you desire. I always say “make it your own”
Crust: you have your choice…you can buy already made crust, make your own from scratch or if you’re like me and you like to do a bit of both you can get the easy add water mixes. I had a bag from the dollar store. I just added hot water and mixed in a little bit of the BBQ rub to give it some extra flavor
Toppings: whatever your little heart desires, but here is what I put on mine: Sauce goes down first. Then the shredded chicken I topped that with shredded cheddar then the veggies: shredded spinach, chopped green onion, sliced jalapeño (no seeds), apple smoked gruyere cheese and a blend of Italian cheeses. Never can have enough cheese.
Bake according to crust directions. Now if you’re like me…nothing is spicy enough for me, so when that bad boy comes out of the oven you will throw some of this spicy goodness on there
Slice that tasty pie up and enjoy
